Level 4 (150/300/25)
Day 1A Entrants: 52
We heard a commotion coming from Table 10, and moving in to see what caused the ruckus, we saw Rich Arndt (pictured) all in for his last 7,000 or so holding pocket queens. Arndt had flopped a set and was up against an opponent with pocket jacks, and a jack had hit the turn, with the last queen arriving on the river to give the player with jacks a boat. While conventional wisdom says it can be tough to get paid off with quads, the opponent making jacks full certainly solves that potential problem.
A friendly local player, Arndt has had some success in RunGood events before. Among his $57,457 in total cashes are cashes in both events here last year, 25th place in October and 23rd in February.
We'll see if Arndt can improve upon those results, which earned him about $2,500.
Meanwhile, the field has surpassed 50 players as the first break nears.
