On both a local and national level, the RunGood Council Bluffs Main Event is sure to bring out a healthy level of heroes and already, two of them have entered on Day 1A with a final table appearance on their mind.
Phil Mader created quite the legacy for himself in 2012 when he ran deep in the World Series Of Poker Main Event. Mader tangled with the likes of Phil Ivey on his way to a $185,000 score and received his fair share of camera time on the ESPN broadcast. Since then, Mader has continued to pillage and reached the final table of the August edition of the RunGood Main Event at Council Bluffs.
Along with the RunGood Series, the Horseshoe hosts the WSOP Circuit once per year. Last April, Duane Gerleman earned the honors of "Casino Champion" by virtue of the points he accumulated during the series. Gerleman made it two final tables and won a Circuit ring in the process. Gerleman and his almost $309,000 in earnings have done well and a main event win would keep up his building legacy.
