The short stacks won't die at the RG Council Bluffs Main Event final table and Thomas Tackett found another one. Mickey Stuefen (pictured) did too and both are out of the danger zone.
Tackett opened to 65,000 under the gun and Russell Licking three-bet to 150,000 on his left. The action folded back to Tackett and he piled for 270,000 total. Licking called with 10♦10♥ and Tackett was flipping with A♠K♣. An ace hit the flop and Tackett is back up to 565,000. Licking sits with 775,000.
Stuefen was all-in for 255,000 with A♥K♥ against the K♣Q♣ of Dan Martin. The Q♠5♥3♣ flop put Martin ahead but the A♠ turn swung the pendulum back to Stuefen. The river bricked and Stuefen is peaking with 580,000.
Martin is in the lower tier of the final table with 465,000. Chris Horter and Jamie Kerstetter are the two short stacks with neither of them having more than 15 big blinds.
