Mickey Stuefen and Jon Lawson (pictured) are sitting a little bit better at the RG Council Bluffs Main Event final table thanks to a respective double up.  Stuefen jumped his stack from 92,000 to 200,000 after winning a flip with QJ against the 10♣10♠ of Russell Licking. A jack arrived on the flop, turn, and river and the quads of Stuefen gave him the double.

Thomas Tackett opened for a standard raise on the button and Lawson defended his big blind. Lawson checked the J54♠ flop and Tackett bet 30,000. Lawson raised to 65,000 and Tackett called to the Q♣ turn.

Lawson shoved for 100,000 on the Q♣ turn and Tackett took a moment before calling with A7. The J♠10♠ of Lawson was ahead and he held through the 3♣ river. Tackett is now the short stack with 72,000 as the blinds go up. Lawson is playing 340,000.
