The race for chip leader is getting more crowded at the top and Brian Nguyen is making a charge toward the top with his elimination of Troy Repp paying major dividends.
Grant Hinkle opened for a standard raise in the cutoff and Nguyen flatted on the button as did Repp in the small blind. The big blind followed suit and the flop came down Q♣10♣6♠. Repp open-shoved for 24,000 and the big blind along with Hinkle folded. Nguyen thought for a moment and then called to put Repp at risk. Repp had 9♣8♠ for a double-gutter straight draw and Nguyen had a draw of his with K♦J♥.
The 5♠ turn was good for Nguyen and the A♣ river gave him a straight and the knockout. Nguyen is stacking near 120,000 as the end of the night nears.
