Michael Pelt's road through the final table finally hit a speed bump with Harris Smith (pictured) doubling up against the chip leader.

Smith raised to 120,000 on the button and Pelt shoved out of the small blind with short-stacked Chris Babb waiting in the big blind. Babb folded and Smith couldn't call fast enough for 1,000,000 total with AA.

Pelt tabled a smaller pair 44♠ and fell further behind on the Q♣J10♣ flop. Smith was looking good to double but then the 4♣ turn swung the lead toward Pelt. It swung right back when the K♠ hit the river to give Smith a straight.

Pelt paid off the double and a hand later doubled up Babb for 470,000 when his A♠Q lost to Babb's K8.  Babb flopped an eight and held through. Updated counts halfway through the level are below.

  1. Harris Smith - 2,030,000
  2. Michael Pelt - 3,740,000
  3. Chris Babb - 955,000
  4. Chris Conrad - 2,715,000
