Ryan Tepen's Hot Streak Continues with One-Day Main Event Win in Kansas City

The RunGood Poker Series at Harrah's North Kansas City continued at 1 p.m. Saturday (April 30) with our $340 One-Day Main Event. Expectations were high after nearly tripling the guarantee Friday night, and we were not disappointed when player turnout smashed the $25,000 guarantee by more than double. In all, 176 players entered the One-Day Main Event, bringing the prize pool to a whopping $52,800. The winner would receive $14,254, have their name engraved on the Travelling Champion's Cup and receive a replica trophy to keep as their own.

Several standout players from Friday's tournament climbed the leaderboard on Saturday, notably David Caron (who won the medallion in the Ignite the Night tournament less than 24 hours earlier), and Andre "Aces" Allen, who finished eighth the night before, experienced a bit of deja vu by finishing eighth for the second time in as many days.

Four RunGood pros played on Saturday: Justin Gardenhire, Bryan Campanello, Ryan Tepen, and Ross Bybee, with the latter two making it all the way to the final table. Pokernews was there to record all the action, which you can find here.

When the chips settled, they were all in front of RunGood pro Ryan Tepen, who has been lighting the felt on fire consistently for the past 18 months. In 2015 alone, Tepen cashed in 30 events for a total of $275,703 in prize money, including the Road to the RunGood Cup Championship at Harrah's New Orleans in December. Already this year, Tepen has racked up $116,021 in tournament winnings, including final tables at WSOPC Council Bluffs and WSOPC Tunica, plus two top-20 finishes (one at WSOPC Council Bluffs and the other at the Hollywood Poker Open).

RunGood would like to thank all the players who came out to play and to Harrah's NKC staff for all their hard work and bringing us to Kansas City!
