Thursday at noon the RGPS End of Summer Tour resumed at the Horseshoe in Council Bluffs with the $200 NLHE 6-max tournament. By the time registration closed at the start of Level 7, 112 players had entered, creating a prize pool of $17,920. The first-place finisher would receive $5,373 plus a Bose Bluetooth speaker.
After eight hours of play, the field was down to 7 players at a final table, all of whom have resumes including final table appearances at HPT, WSOP, and/or RGPS events. The theme of the table was patience, as the players avoided taking flips except against the shortest stack. Eventual champion Jesse McVicker took advantage of this by raising liberally preflop and taking down the blinds and antes with relatively little resistance.
Two and a half hours into final table play, four players were left, with roughly even stacks, and an agreement was struck to chop the remaining prize pool, with Jesse McVicker as the official winner. Congratulations to Jesse and all of the final tablists on their deep run and thank you to all the players who came out to play!
Official $200 NLHE 6-max results:
