RGPS returns to Horseshoe-Council Bluffs; official $150 Thousandaire results

For the 2016 RunGood Poker Series, halftime (aka the 2016 World Series of Poker) is over, and it's time to kick off the second half of our 2016 season. Our last stop of the spring is our first of the summer in Council Bluffs, Iowa, at the Horseshoe Casino. We're trading the dry heat of the desert for the milder temperatures of the Midwest as we play out another week of poker, food, cocktails, and more poker (not necessarily in that order).

First up on the schedule Wednesday, August 17, was a new event for the RGPS, the $150 Thousandaire tournament. Played under a survivor format, the prize pool would be divided evenly by $1,000 to determine the number of positions paid, with the top survivors all earning $1,000, and any remaining amount going to the next spot down. RunGood and the Horseshoe also added a bonus in the form of a RunGood-branded Yeti Tumbler to be awarded to everyone who makes it into the money. 115 players registered for the tournament, creating a prize pool of $12,980. Twelve "thousandaires" would receive $1,000 each, and the unlucky number 13 finisher would leave with just $20 less.
