It's not how you start but how you finish that decides a player's Day 1 fate and despite not coming out of the gate with immediate chip accumulation, a few players have bided their time and are starting to peak at the right time.
Nick Burris is seated on the direct right of Chuck Marty and despite not having the best seat in the house, is playing around 55,000. Burris earned a trip to the payout cage a few weeks ago in the RunGood Tulsa Main Event and hopes to take home a larger score this time around. The insurance broker knows a thing or two about risk management and will be picking his spots accordingly for the rest of the Day 1B session.
Travis Lavine is heading toward the 80,000 chip threshold after having a relatively slow start to the day. Lavine created a unique place in history for himself in 2010 when he won a WSOP Circuit ring at The Horseshoe in the first ever live Omaha tournament he ever played in. We don't with certainty if this is Lavine's first career RunGood Main Event but a win and the five-figure first place prize would be sweet just the same.
