The RunGood Kansas City event opened on Tuesday with the always popular Shootout event. A talented group of players advanced out of the opening round and then only RunGood's Grant Hinkle and Andre "Black Aces" Allen remained to play heads up for the title.
Their match lasted for nearly three hours as both players took turns holding the chip lead. As the blinds increased, Allen took the edge and closed out Hinkle to win the title, KO Watch, and personalized boxing gloves.
Allen is a Kansas City local and is attempting to follow in the footsteps of Robert Palacios, who hails from KC and won this event last September. He has a great nickname but Allen has some game as well and is ready to put those skills on display this weekend.
