If you've played a RunGood Poker Series, odds are you've had Jeff Bryan at your table. Bryan is not one to say much at the table as he prefers to let his chips do the talking.
The Fort Calhoun, Nebraska native has a career spanning 35-years at Concrete Equipment Company as the Senior Sales Manager and Operations Manager. Having mastered his chosen career, Bryan went in search of other challenges, of which he found two: drag racing and poker.
"I spent a lot of time drag racing starting around 2003," Bryan recalls. "I always had a car that could do a 10-second ¼-mile."
But drag racing takes a lot of time, and the rewards are few. Poker, on the other hand, has been "relatively successful," he says. The word we'd use is lucrative. In 2007, Bryan finished 27th in the WSOP Main Event for $333,490. Bryan used the money to pay off his mortgage. He's no one-hit wonder, either--he has amassed $744,813 in lifetime tournament winnings.
In today's Day 1A flight, Bryan heads to break with just under the century mark, 97,000 chips. He hopes to bag tonight and get Saturday off to spend with his wife and family (of which he has five children and eight grandchildren) in Bartlesville before heading back to Hard Rock on Sunday for Day 2.
We wouldn't bet against it.
