Kansas City is a hotbed for poker and the community travels for any and all RunGood events. The trend is holding to form on Day 1B with Steve Johnson (pictured above) and Derrick Contreras (pictured below) in the field.
Both players made a deep run in the RG Kansas City Main Event in the 2017 Spring Series. Johnson came up shy of the final table, taking 12th and Contreras wrapped up his run in fifth place.
The two players are on opposite sides of the tournament room and if fate works out, may find themselves next to each other in the later stages of Day 2 as they fight for hometown supremacy.
