It looked like John Pelton's good fortune would continue and put him into the chip lead but the deck had other ideas and Nick Kortenber wound up doubling instead.
Pelton raised from the small blind and Kortenber shoved for 420,000 from the big blind. Pelton made an easy call with K♣K♠ and Kortenber was up against it with 9♥9♠. The J♣10♣6♠ flop held Pelton's edge but the 8♦ turn opened some straight doors for Kortenber. The 7♣ came home on the river and Kortenber doubled up to 870,0000.
